    Farm Country Roofs in Farmington

Some place names explain themselves. Farmington was named for its location within a farming district.

Farmington is an unincorporated community in Oconee County. It sits along US Routes 129/441, about 3.1 miles south-southeast of Bishop, and it has its own post office with ZIP code 30638.

The county name has older roots. It comes from the Oconee, a Muskogean people of central Georgia, and the name shows up in several spellings, including Ocone, Oconi, Ocony, and Ekwoni. Watkinsville serves as the county seat, Morgan County borders Oconee to the south, and the county lies in the Piedmont region of the state. Part of the Oconee National Forest falls inside its lines.

US 441 ties this stretch together. Heading north out of Madison, it runs west of a section of the national forest and passes through communities such as Apalachee, Farmington, and Bishop. Each of those places has its own story.

Apalachee, over the line in Morgan County, is an unincorporated settlement stretched along Lower Apalachee and Parsonage Roads about seven miles north of Madison. It was first known as Dogsboro. When the Central of Georgia Railway opened a station there in 1888, the stop was called Florence. Because Georgia already had a Florence, the settlement took the name Apalachee around 1896, after the Apalachee River. Its old school, used from 1911 to 1951, still stands.

Bishop, the next stop up, was named after W. H. Bishop, a local landowner and politician, and a post office called Bishop has been in operation since 1889. Bishop's historic district was listed with the National Register in 1996; it follows roughly Price Mill Road, Old Bishop Road, and US 441 and counts 63 buildings that contribute to it. Just north of Bishop's limits, State Route 186 ends at US 129/441 after a trip from Good Hope in Walton County, across the Apalachee River and through North High Shoals.

Put together, that's the lay of the land: a farming district, a string of small communities, and a section of national forest east of the highway.

What about the roofs? Whether it's a house, a barn, or a shed, a roof with open ground on one side and a tree line on the other doesn't age the same way on both faces. The sunny side takes the heat. The shady side stays wet longer and gathers leaves and pine straw. Georgia, per the state's climate summary, has long, hot and humid summers, and thunderstorms roll through often on summer afternoons and evenings.

Now, our side of it. Lakeside Roof Restoration handles one service: spray-on roof rejuvenation for asphalt shingle roofs. HRX by Armovex or Roof Shield is sprayed over the shingles you already have, on roofs that are older but still holding together. We don't do repairs or replacements.

We start by climbing up for an honest look. Are the shingles still flat? Are they cracking or coming loose? Is the shaded slope carrying moss or debris? If rejuvenation isn't a fit for your roof, you'll hear that from us straight.

Farmington, along with the rest of southern Oconee County, falls inside the area we serve. Phone (470) 541-5423 if you'd like to talk dates.

    Common Questions

Do you cover Farmington and the south end of Oconee County?

Yes. Farmington sits on US 129/441 a few miles south of Bishop, and we come out there. Call (470) 541-5423 to get on the list.

We've got a barn and a house. Can you do both?

If both have asphalt shingle roofs in decent shape, yes. We'll look at each one and tell you which make sense.

What weather do you need to do the job?

A dry roof and no rain in the forecast. Georgia summers bring a lot of afternoon storms, so we often plan around those.

When is a roof too far gone?

Leaks, soft decking, or lots of cracked and missing shingles. Spray treatment won't fix those, and we'll be upfront about it.

Serving homeowners in southern Oconee County rural and residential tracts, protecting roofs against unobstructed solar radiation and thermal shingle expansion.

    The Science of Rejuvenation

How HRX Rebuilds Asphalt Shingles from Within

Over time, solar heat bakes the petrochemical oils out of asphalt shingles, making them brittle and dry. HRX replaces those core oils and coats the exterior in a protective shell.

    Core Matrix Re-Oil

    Restores Flexibility

HRX bio-oils deeply penetrate shingle layers to replace evaporated asphalt oils. Shingles regain pliable elasticity, allowing them to expand and contract with temperature shifts without cracking.

    Granule Lock Technology

    Increases Granular Adhesion

Granules shield asphalt from sunlight. HRX acts as a clear binder that locks ceramic granules firmly into place, preventing gutter granule loss and shingle bald spots.

    Solar Thermal Barrier

    Superior UV Protection

Contains UV reflectors and polymer stabilizers that absorb radiation before it degrades shingle fibers, keeping attic temperatures cooler and extending roof life by 5 to 15 years.

    Hydrophobic Moisture Barrier

Repels rain, dew, and frost. Stops micro-fissures from soaking up water during rainstorms, eliminating winter freeze-thaw cracking cycles.

    Eco-Friendly Low VOC Formula

Water-based, non-toxic formula that cures safely without heavy odors. Safe for landscaping, pets, and children while diverting tons of shingle waste from landfills.
