Roof Rejuvenation From Our Home Base in Sparta
Sparta is home for us. Lakeside Roof Restoration is based right here in Hancock County, so when you call about a roof in town, you're calling a neighbor, not a crew from two hours away.
A little background on the town. Sparta was founded in 1795, a couple of years after the legislature created Hancock County and named it for John Hancock, and it became the county seat in 1797. The name comes from the city-state in ancient Greece. Sherman's March to the Sea passed it by in 1864, and by most accounts the town came through untouched.
Sparta is the county seat, and a lot of the houses around the courthouse square and the older downtown streets have been standing a long time. Plenty of them have been reroofed somewhere along the way with asphalt shingles that are now starting to show their age. That's the roof we look at. If the shingles are dry, a little stiff, and shedding granules into the gutters but still lying flat and doing their job, spray-on rejuvenation may be a good fit. If they're too far gone, we'll tell you straight. We only do rejuvenation, so there's nothing else for us to sell you.
The heart of town is the Sparta Historic District, roughly 50 acres that made the National Register in 1974. It takes in the Hancock County Courthouse, a brick building designed in 1881 by the Atlanta firm Parkins and Bruce. Fire consumed it on August 11, 2014, and the county rebuilt it and rededicated it two years later to the day. The old Hancock County jail and the Old Eagle Tavern are inside the district too. So is the Rossiter-Little House.
Geographically, Sparta sits near the fall line in Middle Georgia, about halfway between Macon and Augusta and some 65 miles south of Athens. Georgia 15 and 16 through the county are both designated scenic routes, and the stretches of Hancock County near Lake Sinclair and Lake Oconee draw hunters each year.
Out here, trees are a big part of the story. Most yards in and around Sparta have tall pines and hardwoods close to the house. Pine straw piles up in valleys, leaves hold moisture against the shingles, and shade keeps some slopes damp long after a rain while the sunny side bakes all afternoon. Add Middle Georgia humidity and those hard summer thunderstorms, and shingles age unevenly. We walk the whole roof, both the shaded and the sunny sides, before we recommend anything.
The west side of the county runs down to Lake Sinclair. The lake is a Georgia Power reservoir shared by Hancock, Baldwin, and Putnam counties, and it's also where Sparta gets its water. Homes and cabins along the coves get extra moisture off the water, so we pay close attention to those roofs.
What we use: the HRX system by Armovex and Roof Shield. Both are spray-on rejuvenation coatings applied to the roof you already have. No tear-off and no dumpster in the driveway.
Three state highways cross in Sparta: Georgia 15, 16, and 22. Georgia 16 heads west about 27 miles to Eatonton, Georgia 15 runs north through White Plains and Siloam to Greensboro, and Milledgeville sits roughly 23 miles off to the west. Because we start from Sparta, the rest of lake country is an easy drive for us. We also work in Milledgeville, up toward Eatonton and Greensboro, and around the Lake Sinclair shoreline. If you're not sure whether we come out your way, just ask.

Common Questions
Does the summer heat and humidity around Sparta really wear down a shingle roof?
It can. Middle Georgia gets long, hot, humid summers with highs over 90 most days, and years of that are hard on asphalt shingles. Rejuvenation is meant for shingles that are aging but still in decent shape, so it's worth having the roof looked at before it gets brittle.
My house in Hancock County sits under a lot of trees. Can you still treat the roof?
Usually, yes. Shade keeps a roof damp longer after rain, so moss, algae and leaf buildup tend to show up first under the canopy. The roof has to be clean and dry before we spray, and if branches are resting on it, it's best to have them trimmed back first.
How long does it take to rejuvenate a roof?
Timing depends on the size and pitch of the roof and the weather. We need dry conditions with no rain on the way, and summer afternoon storms can push the schedule around. We'll give you a time estimate once we've seen your roof.
How do I know if my roof is a good fit for rejuvenation?
It's meant for asphalt shingle roofs that are getting older but are still lying flat and holding together. If shingles are curling badly, cracked through, missing, or the decking is soft, spray-on treatment isn't the right answer and we'll tell you so. Call Tony at (470) 541-5423 for a straight answer.

How
Rebuilds Asphalt Shingles from Within
Over time, solar heat bakes the petrochemical oils out of asphalt shingles, making them brittle and dry.
replaces those core oils and coats the exterior in a protective shell.
Restores Flexibility
HRX bio-oils deeply penetrate shingle layers to replace evaporated asphalt oils. Shingles regain pliable elasticity, allowing them to expand and contract with temperature shifts without cracking.
Increases Granular Adhesion
Granules shield asphalt from sunlight. HRX acts as a clear binder that locks ceramic granules firmly into place, preventing gutter granule loss and shingle bald spots.
Superior UV Protection
Contains UV reflectors and polymer stabilizers that absorb radiation before it degrades shingle fibers, keeping attic temperatures cooler and extending roof life by 5 to 15 years.
Hydrophobic Moisture Barrier
Repels rain, dew, and frost. Stops micro-fissures from soaking up water during rainstorms, eliminating winter freeze-thaw cracking cycles.
Eco-Friendly Low VOC Formula
Water-based, non-toxic formula that cures safely without heavy odors. Safe for landscaping, pets, and children while diverting tons of shingle waste from landfills.
5-Gallon Commercial Coating Specifications
Formulated for precision spray rigs, HRX is engineered to saturate asphalt matrix within 30 minutes and dry to a clear, satin protective film.
